Ghanaian rapper Edem has recently dropped the video for his song ‘Heyba‘ which can be seen as one of the most exceptional videos from Ghana this year. Since its release the video by the cultural ambassador of the Volta region has been widely celebrated in social media.
The atmosphere in the George Gyimah directed video might be dark but it definitely shows some impressive images. One striking element is the illustration of masks in the first half of the video. It is interesting to see how these cultural elements are being shown in a contemporary Hip Hop video and thus gain appreciation in another cultural sphere.
