‘Ginger Me Slowly’ – Somi

Somi

While rising Jazz/Soul artist Somi is currently working on her new album, her last LP ‘If the rain comes first‘ is still being celebrated internationally. For her new album she seemed to gain a lot of inspiration from Lagos, where she records her new LP. Her love for this bustling Nigerian metropolis and especially the slang Lagosians speak (popularly known as Pidgin), inspired her to record the track ‘Ginger Me Slowly‘. “I was inspired by the Lagos slang expression “to ginger someone” meaning to spice someone up and make them feel good.”
