Zimbabwean Afro-Pop via Boston. Here comes Chashe! Harare-born and Boston-based artist Chashe might have released only a few songs but they make us very curious for more. The leading single ‘Dhi’ for her upcoming LP is a wonderful Afro-Pop tune that creates a beautifully sounding mélange of Shona and English language. Chashe cites legends like South African Miriam Makeba or Zimbabwean Oliver Mtukudzi as well as contemporary artists such as Alicia Keys and FreshlyGround as some of her musical influences. The release date for her LP is 18th October.
