Malian Afrobeat ensemble Ben Zabo have released a fresh video for their song ‘Warivo‘. Filmed by John Bosch and Peter Weber the pictures take us to the streets of Bamako. In the description for the video they tell us what meaning the song actually has:
“‘Wari vo’ translates to “money is gone” or “i have no money”. The lyrics tell the story of being too broke to buy the finer things in life: house, car, motorbike; and a girlfriend who wants material things. The only solution is being free, choosing a simple life.”
So, Ben Zabo’s music is not only relevant for the dancefloor. These are essential life lessons.
