Hope Masike and her Mbira sound

And here comes a musician from the newer generation of Zimbabwean artists. A graduate from the Zimbabwe College of music, Hope Masike, went to Norway where she taught African music for one year and used this opportunity to stage shows around Norway. Zimbabwe has a rich Mbira culture with many traditional mbira masters. It’s interesting how Hope Masike succeeds to create a mélange of different music influences and the mbira sound (Just two weeks ago I have posted how Zimbabwean artist Tinashé used the mbira to play the instrumentals for his Song Zambezi).
